Day 3 & 4 - Not too glorious - con si con sa

Wednesday - 6:30pm

This was supposed to be a good Bikram class. I had semi-empty stomach, my body was hydrated, my mat was super clean. YES, did you know you could wash your yoga mat in the washing machine? hahaha I've been practicing yoga for 10 years and it never occurred to me that this could be done until a couple of days ago. Anyway, all the conditions for a successful class were in place but it turn out a total disaster. It counts because I didn't leave the room. It counts because this is yoga practice and not yoga perfection. But other than that, I had to rest during Standing Bow Pulling Pose, 1 set of triangle and 1 set of camel. Not very happy about it. I am glad that Stephan, the instructor, pushed me to do the second sets because I was having a little anxiety attack, shallow breathing.

Not sure where this is all coming from but I have been a little bit stressed out lately. I don't know if you read about Chelsea King over the last few days. http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2010-03-03-missing-teen-san-diego_N.htm?csp=34. This is so sad and scary.

Thursday - 6:00 am
Good class with Tim ( aka the enchanter). He normally does an amazing guided meditation at the end of the class, that had put me to sleep in the past, not today. He has a nice French accent. His voice was so relaxing, I almost felt to sleep during wind removing pose. I couldn't keep my eyes open hahaha

  1. It counts!! Glad your second class was good. Sometimes the evening/early morning back-to-back classes can be really tough!

So sad about Chelsea King... My dad coaches high school track/cross-country in SD and has two daughters. I think he's having an especially hard time with that story.

  3. This happened in my neighborhood, not even 2 miles from my house. I am also a runner. We go to that park and lake with our little ones all the time. Not anymore. This is / was a pretty safe place. I checked Megan's law site after these news came out, just to see where these offenders live. I shouldn't have done that. There are over 4000 registered sex offenders in San Diego. OMG!!! Catherine, if I am freaking out, I can't imagine how your dad feels, being a track/cross-country coach.

  4. Hey Cirita!
I know what you mean about the Chelsea story. I also live in San Diego and am horrified by it. People at work are also constantly sending emails about related "Jogger attacked" stories. Not helping--I'm also a jogger! I hate that as females we're "supposed" to be scared and on alert all the time. But stuff like this is just scary.

    Fortunately, there's yoga :-)
